CN Foreign Ministry: CN, US Presidents Reach Series of New Consensus to Promote Stable Development of Bilateral Ties

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China stated that US President Donald Trump is paying a state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This marks another face-to-face meeting between the two heads of state following their meeting in Busan last October, and also the first visit to China by a US president in nine years. The two presidents conducted in-depth exchanges of views on major issues concerning both countries and the world, reaching a series of new consensus.

The spokesperson added that the two leaders agreed to establish a "constructive strategic stable relationship between China and the US" as the new positioning of bilateral ties, providing strategic guidance for China-US relations over the next three years and beyond, and promoting stable, healthy and sustainable development of relations, bringing greater peace, prosperity and progress to the world.
