A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China stated that US President Donald Trump is paying a state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This marks another face-to-face meeting between the two heads of state following their meeting in Busan last October, and also the first visit to China by a US president in nine years.
