Goldman Sachs released a research report on TENCENT (00700.HK), which launched the open-source Hy3 preview language model, marking the first concrete outcome following the group's AI strategy revamp. The model's metrics and its focus on agent capabilities are largely in line. The model was developed under the leadership of Chief AI Scientist Yao Shunyu (former OpenAI researcher), with 295 billion parameters (21 billion activated parameters). Compared with peers, it is smaller in scale and emphasizes practicality, agent functions, complex reasoning and coding capabilities. The broker maintained its Buy rating on TENCENT, with a TP of HKD700. Despite a deceleration in full-year profit growth this year, the broker continued to forecast that the company's adjusted operating profit will grow by 10% YoY in 1Q26 and by 8% YoY for FY26.
