TENCENT (00700.HK) and BABA-W (09988.HK) are in preliminary talks regarding a potential investment in DeepSeek, according to recent reports by multiple foreign media outlets.

Separately, Beijing-headquartered venture capital firm Shunwei Capital is also in discussions with DeepSeek, the Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported. Shunwei Capital is backed by Lei Jun, founder and chairman of XIAOMI-W (01810.HK).

DeepSeek is reportedly seeking to raise at least USD300 million, with preliminary discussions valuing the company between USD10 billion and USD30 billion.
