BofA Securities published a research report covering TENCENT (00700.HK), which charted a 7% upswing in its stock price yesterday (10th), with its ADR swelling 10% overnight. This was mainly driven by two developments: the company launched several new autonomous AI agent products built on OpenClaw (Lobster) in recent days; and Tencent is reportedly actively developing new AI WeChat agent features to connect users to its vast mini-program ecosystem, likely through a new AI entry point within Weixin. The rapid adoption of AI chatbots and AI agents is expected to propel an increase in inference workloads, potentially leading to increased capex and AI-related spending for Tencent in 2026-27 forecasts. The broker will focus on how management frames and quantifies mid-term AI investments in the upcoming 4Q25 results. BofA Securities maintained a Buy rating and a target price of HKD780 on TENCENT.
