<Econ>CN Exports in USD Rise 21.8% YoY in 2M26; Imports Up 19.8%; Both Major Beats

In USD terms, China's total value of imports and exports of goods for the first two months of this year neared USD1.1 trillion, up 21% YoY, data released by the General Administration of Customs showed.

Among this, exports amounted to USD656.58 billion, marking a YoY growth of 21.8%, surpassing market expectations of a 7.2% increase. Imports totaled USD442.96 billion, with a YoY hike of 19.8%, exceeding the expected 7% rise.

The trade surplus was USD213.62 billion, while the market had anticipated a surplus of USD176.1 billion.
