International oil prices shattered above USD110/ bbl as the US-Iran war gave rise to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. US stock futures headed south, with DJIA futures last collapsing 1,047 points or 2.2%; S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures diving 2% and 2.3%, respectively.

This morning (9th), multiple stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region cascaded. Hong Kong bourse last slid 655 points or over 2.5%, at 25,101. Mainland China's A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen closed down 1.1% and 2.1% at midday.

Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average tumbled 3,880 points or 7% at midday, at 51,740. SoftBank, Advantest, Disco, Lasertec, and Kioxia (285A.JP) plunged 11- 14%.

South Korea's KOSPI sagged 395 points or 7.1%, at 5,188, triggering a circuit breaker. Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Hyundai Motor, SK Square, and Kia Motors plummeted 8.4-9.6%.

Taiwan Stock Exchange Weighted Index stumbled 1,714 points or 5.1%, at 31,884. TSMC lost 4.8%; Hon Hai and MediaTek fell off 5.8% and 7.1%; and Delta Electronics skydived 9.5%.
