BofA Securities released a research report on BYD COMPANY (01211.HK), which held its 2026 Tech Day yesterday (5th), officially launching the second-generation blade battery and flash charging technology.

The second-generation blade battery reduces charging time at room temperature to 5 and 9 minutes, compared to approximately 30 minutes for the first-generation blade battery. In extremely cold weather, charging time is less than 12 minutes.

The new generation battery maintains a capacity retention rate of over 85% at minus 20 degrees Celsius. The energy density of the second-generation blade battery is 5% higher than that of the first generation, thus supporting a driving mileage of over 1,000 kilometers.

The broker reiterated a Buy rating with a target price of HKD122 for BYD, as the increased contribution from BYD's overseas business should help its gross margin.
