The HSI settled the midday down 74 points or 0.3% at 25,985. The HSCEI fell 26 points or 0.3% to 8,675. The HSTECH dropped 50 points or 1% to 4,938. The total half-day turnover for the market amounted to HKD187.565 billion. Natural gas stock KUNLUN ENERGY (00135.HK) spiked 3.2%. Oil stock SINOPEC CORP (00386.HK) dipped 1.8%. Its peers PETROCHINA (00857.HK) and CNOOC (00883.HK) rallied 4% and 2.3%. Oil equipment stock SHANDONG MOLONG (00568.HK) was hyped up 59%, with a turnover of HKD7.88 billion. Oil field services stock CHINA OILFIELD (02883.HK) climbed 3.8%. Oil tanker stock COSCO SHIP ENGY (01138.HK) rocketed 6.6%. As the Baltic Dry Index continued to head north, shipping stocks OOIL (00316.HK) and COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) jumped 3.3% and 4.9%. In contrast, gold and silver stocks receded, with CHI SILVER GP (00815.HK), ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK), and ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) slipping 3.6-4.6%. CHINAGOLDINTL (02099.HK) and ZIJIN GOLD INTL (02259.HK) also cratered 5.9% and 5.6%. Among tech stocks, TENCENT (00700.HK), BABA-W (09988.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) edged up 0.1-0.7%. NTES-S (09999.HK) rallied 2.6%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) inched 0.2% and 1.2% lower. Additionally, EAST BUY (01797.HK), CHINASOFT INT'L (00354.HK), and GDS-SW (09698.HK) slid 3.7-4.3%. INSILICO (03696.HK) shed 3%. KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK) and MINIMAX-WP (00100.HK) ballooned 4.7% and 17.8%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) lost 1.9% and 2.7%. In the automotive sector, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) retreated 2.2%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) eroded 3%. LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK), NIO-SW (09866.HK), and XPENG-W (09868.HK) faded 4.4-5.5%.
