US bourse saw bargain hunting, with the DJIA down 0.15% and the Nasdaq up 0.4%. Hong Kong stock market started higher in the morning session. The HSI opened 130 points or 0.5% higher at 26,190; the HSCEI opened 42 points or 0.5% higher at 8,744; the HSTECH opened 29 points or 0.6% higher at 5,018.

In the tech sector, TENCENT (00700.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) each opened 0.8% higher. NTES-S (09999.HK) and BABA-W (09988.HK) opened 1.2% and 1.9% higher. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) opened 0.3% higher. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) opened 0.2% lower.

In the automotive sector, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) opened 0.9% higher at HKD100. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) opened flat at HKD33.14, and NIO-SW (09866.HK) opened 3.4% lower.
