This year's competition in the food delivery market will shift towards deeper value competition, according to Fang Yongxin, a representative of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and President of Taobao Instant Commerce, who made predictions at the 2026 Two Sessions in Shanghai yesterday (4th), The Paper reported.

With the efforts of Taobao Instant Commerce, the potential of consumer life service platforms has been fully unleashed, with the current average daily order volume reaching 150 million orders. It is expected that the daily order volume in the sector will march towards 300 million orders in the next two to three years, suggesting robust consumer demand.

Furthermore, Fang plans to leverage the underlying capabilities of BABA-W (09988.HK)'s AI technology to comprehensively enhance consumer experience, merchant operational efficiency, and service provider levels. Harnessing Alibaba's ecosystem resources, the group's Qianwen APP manifested deep integration with multiple consumer scenarios such as Taobao, Amap, Fliggy, and Taobao Instant Commerce.
