Gold and silver prices sustained their uptrend on Tuesday. Spot gold lifted 0.4% to US$4,458.95 per ounce, setting a new record high. Spot silver hiked 1.7% to surpass the US$70 mark. Gold futures for February delivery climbed US$15.5 or 0.4% to US$4,484.3 per ounce. Silver futures for March delivery increased 1.9% to US$69.865 per ounce.
