Hong Kong stocks inclined this morning (12th). The HSI climbed 348 points or 1.4% to 25,878 at midday. The HSCEI gained 104 points or 1.2% to 9,039. The HSTECH ascended 80 points or 1.5% to 5,615. Total half-day turnover of the market amounted to $106.533 billion.

For financials, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) jumped up 2.7% to close at $117.1 at midday, and peaked at $117.5 during the intraday trading session, setting its historical high after the ex-dividend date. STANCHART (02888.HK) elevated 2.1%, while HKEX (00388.HK) and AIA (01299.HK) lifted 1.3% and 1.9%.

Chinese insurer CHINA TAIPING (00966.HK) mounted 3.9%, while CHINA LIFE (02628.HK) and CPIC (02601.HK) leaped over 2%. Chinese bank ABC (01288.HK) cascaded 2.3%.

Gold prices rose significantly. ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) ballooned 3.6%, while CHINAGOLDINTL (02099.HK), SD GOLD (01787.HK) and ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK) advanced 1.8-2.3%. Silver prices broker ceilings, with CHI SILVER GP (00815.HK) hiking 2.9%.

For resource stocks, CHINAHONGQIAO (01378.HK), JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK), MMG (01208.HK) and CHALCO (02600.HK) mushroomed 3.4-3.8%. Interest rate-sensitive homebuilders increased. NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK) and SHK PPT (00016.HK) swelled 3.1% and 2.7%, while HENDERSON LAND (00012.HK) escalated 2.1%.
