Nina Wang Charity Management Limited announced that its application for tax-exempt charitable status under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance has been approved. Upon completion of the relevant procedures, it will provide the first donation of $100 million to support the Hong Kong government's recovery and community reconstruction efforts following the fire at Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po. Nina Wang Charity Management Limited is a charitable trust under the heritage of the late co-founder of Chinachem Group, Nina Wang, appointed by the court. The Secretary for Justice has appointed Rita Fan, Joseph Yam and Cheng Yan-kee as members of the supervisory managing organization (SMO) responsible for supervising the operation of the trustee.
