ZTE Dives ~8% Amid Reports of Potential USD1B+ Payment to US Govt Over Foreign Bribery Allegations

ZTE (00763.HK) opened 2.9% lower this morning (11th) and slid steeply in early trading. It last traded at HKD29.18, down 7.77%, with a volume of 17.0196 million shares, involving HKD503 million.

It is reported that ZTE may pay the US government over USD1 billion or even as much as USD2 billion or more to settle allegations of overseas bribery that have persisted for years. The company, however, hasn't yet made any response on the matter.
