Wang Fuk Court Victims' Living Allowance Hikes to $100,000/ Household

Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Alice Mak, recaptured today (4th) during a press conference that the government had announced last week to lift the living allowance for each household affected by the Wang Fuk Court disaster from HKD50,000 to HKD100,000. 300 households have already received HKD50,000, and the remaining HKD50,000 will be disbursed subsequently, she reported. Additionally, families of the deceased will receive HKD200,000 in condolence money and HKD50,000 for funeral expenses, with 67 cases already processed and condolence money to be disbursed progressively. Furthermore, the government has established the "Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po" in response to the Tai Po fire; along with HKD300 million in initial funding from the government, the total fund amount adds to approximately HKD2.8 billion.
