CN SAMR Holds Forum on Fair Competition Among Firms to Strengthen Antitrust Enforcement in Key Areas

China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) held the fifth forum on fair competition among enterprises in 2025, focusing on the theme of 'promoting fair competition and optimizing business environment.'

The forum involved in-depth discussions with foreign enterprises such as Samsung, BMW, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, P&G and IKEA, to listen to opinions and suggestions.

During the meeting, Meng Yang, Vice Minister of the SAMR, introduced the work of the SAMR in strengthening antitrust law enforcement, deepening institutional opening up in the field of competition, enhancing fair competition governance and other ways.

He emphasized that SAMR will further enhance antitrust enforcement in key sectors, strengthen fair competition reviews and review of concentration of business operators, resolutely eliminating bottlenecks hindering the development of a unified national market, and creating a world-class market-oriented business environment characterized by rule of law, so as to fully stimulate the development vitality of all types of business entities.
