Boyu Capital is considering bringing in institutions such as TENCENT (00700.HK) and Singapore's sovereign fund, GIC, as limited partners to jointly participate in the acquisition of up to 60% stake in Starbucks' China business, Bloomberg quoted market sources as saying. However, the plan is still in the discussion stage and may not result in a final agreement. PING AN BANK (000001.SZ), INDUSTRIAL BANK (601166.SH) and MINSHENG BANK (01988.HK) are arranging a 7-year syndicated loan of US$1.4 billion for Boyu, which is expected to be used for this acquisition and the operational capital and expansion requirements of the newly formed joint venture, according to earlier foreign media reports.
