HKEX (00388.HK) announced that it had entered into an agreement with CMU OmniClear, a subsidiary of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority that operates the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU), to purchase new shares issued by CMU OmniClear for up to HKD455 million, ultimately increasing HKEX's stake to 20%.

Vanessa Lau, HKEX's Chief Operating Officer, said this investment will be made with HKEX's own funds and will not affect the group's dividend policy. Over the next 12 months, the group will focus on expanding CMU OmniClear's business, such as enhancing the commercialization of the CMU.
