MTR CORPORATION (00066.HK) will freeze fares this year, marking the first time since the 2023 review of the MTR Fare Adjustment Mechanism.

Based on a YoY growth of 3.1% in the 4Q24 nominal wage index for the transport sector as announced by the Census and Statistics Department today (28th), coupled with data released previously, the fare adjustment formula indicated a 1.45% increase for MTR fares this year.
