Hong Kong bourse rallied in the morning session, with the HSI up 331 points, or 1.7%, to 20,032 in the latest print.

U.S. President Donald Trump said his conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week was cordial and that he thought he can make a trade deal with China.

In an interview with the Fox News, Trump remarked that the dialogue between the two went well, and it was good and friendly.

He could reach a deal with China on fair trade practices, Trump said, expressing he would prefer not to wield tariffs against China.

Tariffs are powerful and will be very impactful on China, which would not want one, Trump said.
