China's Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that the National Financial Work Conference was held in Beijing from December 23 to 24 to implement the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee of the Party and the State Council, as well as to summarize the financial work of 2024 and map out key tasks for 2025.

The meeting stressed that six key tasks should be prioritized in 2025. One is to support the expansion of domestic demand, vigorously boosting consumption by appropriately increasing the basic pension for retirees, lifting the basic pension for urban and rural residents, and raising the fiscal subsidy standards for urban and rural residents' medical insurance.
