HK IRD Issues ~2.44M Tax Returns; Annual Tax Rev. Falls by 5% to $342B

Hong Kong's Inland Revenue Department (IRD) today (2 May) sent out about 2.44 million tax returns for individuals for the year of assessment 2023/24, and reminded taxpayers to file their tax returns on time. A total of $342 billion of tax revenue was collected by the department during the financial year 2023-24, a decrease of $18.2 billion or 5% from the previous year's figure, according to the provisional figures from the IRD.
