Automakers GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) climbed 1% and 0.7%, while NIO-SW (09866.HK) spiked 14.7% after its deliveries surged 135% in April. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) slid 0.5% after its new vehicle deliveries added 0.4% in April. XPENG-W (09868.HK) picked up 0.3% after its new car delivery increased 33% YoY in April.

For financials, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) gained 1.5% to $68, while HKEX (00388.HK) dropped 0.5% to $250.4. AIA (01299.HK) opened flat at $57.8. Oil prices declined. PETROCHINA (00857.HK) and CNOOC (00883.HK) sagged 2.3% and 1.6%, while natural gas stock KUNLUN ENERGY (00135.HK) cratered 3.8%.

Macau's April GGR rose 26% YoY and fell 4.9% MoM. Casinos GALAXY ENT (00027.HK) and SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK) faded 1% and 0.5%.
