The Covid vaccine jointly developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford is suspected to have caused blood clots in some vaccinated patients, as reported by various British media. AstraZeneca admitted for the first time in court documents that its Covid vaccine may have caused a rare side effect called "Thrombocytopenia Syndrome" in some vaccinated people.

AstraZeneca recently admitted so in a court case. The victim, Jamie Scott, aged 44, was diagnosed with cerebral thrombosis after receiving the vaccine in April 2021, and was unable to work due to permanent brain damage. Scott was compensated GBP120,000 by the UK government through the Vaccine Damage Payments Scheme. He is now suffering from hearing, reading, and writing difficulties, as well as being partially blind in both eyes.

It has been reported that 51 cases have been filed with the High Court of England and Wales, in which the victims and their families have claimed over GBP100 million in compensation.
