The Centa Valuation Index (CVI) last printed at 68.30, up 4.53 points from last week's 63.77. Yeung Ming Yee, senior associate director at the research department of Centaline Property, pointed out that the CVI has risen 53.81 points in seven consecutive weeks since the withdrawal of property market "spicy measures", and has stabilised above the 60 mark, which demarcated bullishness and bearishness, for two weeks in a row.

Yeung added that after the government's full withdrawal of spicy measures, the property market has been trading well, and banks' mortgage attitude has also warmed up, forecasting that property prices may stabilise at the current level. However, amid waning anticipation of interest rate cuts, risk management and other factors, some large banks have recently cut cash rebates on second-hand and non-mortgage property mortgages to zero. The banks' attitude towards the mortgage business has seemingly become more cautious.
