The European Commission (EC) has approved the acquisition by CKI HOLDINGS (01038.HK) and CK ASSET (01113.HK) of a stake in Phoenix Energy, Northern Ireland's largest natural gas network company, as well as its UK subsidiary. EC commented that the deal will have a limited impact on the European Economic Area (EEA) and will not raise competition concerns.

A previous EC document showed that the joint consortium of CKI and CKA will acquire shares from Lionrai Investments No.1, the parent company of Phoenix Energy, and will have the opportunity to have joint control over Phoenix Energy, but it does not give an account of the purchase price and the proportion of shares traded.
