The HSI closed up 2 points to 16,251. The HSCEI added 5 points or 0.1% to close at 5,749. The HSTECH picked up 2 points to close at 3,340. Total market turnover for the day amounted to 99.191 billions.

Macau's 1Q24 mass GGR amounted to MOP42.9 billion, accounting for 75% of the total GGR. Casino GALAXY ENT (00027.HK) cascaded 7.1% to close at $34.2, being the worst-performing blue chip. At the same time, JPMorgan downgraded GALAXY ENT to Neutral, while Morgan Stanley downgraded the stock to Equalweight, and reduced its target price to $38. Morgan Stanley also said that the company's 2024 earnings forecast will face downward pressure from the market. SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK) also faded 3.4%.
